#18: Don't Waste My Time

Do whole hearts get rewarded

Do lost left shoes find a home

Stomped into pavement

little remorse

bereavement

Do we stand for what might turn

Do we sit and then get burned

How long to wait

Life’s wishful bait

Do we act on lies

Do we choose to despise

Take on reality

We’re all a formality

A pit stop on your journey

Don’t waste my time

I won’t be your standing army

You won’t be mine

Hold tight tin cans

Rattle for battle

Riddle for attention

Bet for connection

Strings strung pulled at once

Equal sides remove all fronts

Give in to infection

You’re just a misconception

Do whole hearts get rewarded

For acting on lies

Do we stand for what might turn

That look in your eyes

Deceitful disdain

Don’t waste my time
